Class 1-127
Mrs. Iluzzi
Mrs. Robinson

Great things will happen this year!!! We are so happy to have you child in our room.  We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure your child can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning as we will do the same.

~1-127 Teachers

Here is some information about what your child will be doing in class:

Reading

Your child should be reading EVERYDAY for 30 minutes at home. It is okay if you have to read to your child. Remember to discuss books after they are read. For example: what happened in the story? What was the problem in the story? How did the characters fix the problem? What did you learn from this book

Word Work

Your child should know all their letter sound, digraph sounds, and glued sounds. And their sight words. This helps with reading and writing.

Writing

Your child should be able to write 5 sentences on a central topic. Each sentence should start with a capital letter and end with punctuation. On the homework they should be able to fill up the page with words.

Math.

Have your child count anything they see. They should be able to fluently add and subtract with 20. They should also be able to try and solve a word problem by thinking about what they know and what they need to find out.
