As we wrap up the year, reading continues to be our focus.
In reading we will continue to learn strategies to use when reading, such as looking for chunks of sounds we know, finding words inside of bigger words, and using vowel sounds. Students continue to ask themselves three important questions while reading: Does it look right? Does it sound right? Does it make sense?  Good readers also think about what they are reading, so we continuously practice thinking about the story in many different ways - retelling, expressing our opinions about the quality of the story, thinking about the author’s purpose for writing, and more. While reading at home encourage your child to think about what they are reading.  Thanks for all your help at home.
